commissioned posts and terms & conditions

this is probably cheating, but they did say anything. besides, i need to lay down the ground rules.

the basics

if you have a burning desire to read my opinion on something, you can pay me to write about it.

the way it works is this: when you click on a payment link under ‘commission me’, you’ll be taken to stripe’s interface. there will be a field labeled “prompt”. this is where you can write in the topic of your choice. once you enter your payment details and hit ‘buy’, i will get the prompt and as soon as i can, will begin writing the post. if i don’t know much about the topic given, i might take myself off to a search engine or even the local library.

i have also put a field in for you to put your name, if you would like me to credit you. This is optional.

think of the whole thing as a tip jar, of sorts.

things i won’t write about, don’t ask

  • no sexually explicit material.
  • no instructions/technical texts. i don’t know how and won’t learn.
  • no re-writes.
  • no illegal subjects. if it could get me sued or jailed, i’m not doing it.

thoughts i had during this process

i have to use next/previous buttons.

i have to use next/previous buttons and i have to write a minimum of 100 or 500 words, depending on the whims of the interwebs.

is this me externalising my locus of control? or am i being an entrepreneur? i had trouble spelling ‘entrepreneur’. the second r seemed unnatural. but i guess language is unnatural.

will anyone even want to commission me? so few people find this page, since it’s just a personal project. i did think i should promote it more, but i don’t want to lose the feeling of just doing whatever i want to however i want to. the internet is not real life, though in some ways t am more myself here than in person. i do not think it would be in the spirit of starting this website to turn it into some kind of business. if i wanted to be a professional writer i could submit to publications, and try to make a living writing about real things.

this is way more than 100 words. i guess that means the provocation worked. excellent.

    until next time.
